Our Podcasts With Robb Russell & Friends

Mar 2012 will begin our 5th year of doing podcasts . Over the years we have done a very diverse  schedule of topics but most of them are often related to things Robb is into starting with using the internet, web design, beekeeping, trapping, hunting and running a pest or wildlife control business. Whether its Boy Scouts, Bee Archaeology, how to trap frogs , get rid of  honey bee hives, beekeeping  or learning how to use Facebook for your business -you may enjoy our variety of topics with Robb Russell and his many friends.


We have been connecting the wildlife control industry on our podcast since March 2008. We have recorded over 400 separate podcasts on wildlife control, pest control, professionalism , marketing and lots of podcast on beekeeping.

Our podcasts quickly grew from 5 guys (The late Bob Evans CWCP, Maynard Stanley, Mike Flick, Kevin Dahn and Robb Russell chatting on the phone to a record 373 listeners on nite with Newt Sterling and Hog Snarings. We have a lot of fun doing these and happy to hear many have grown their business listening to all the help on the podcasts.

Many guys have bought an mp3 player and download them for listening while on the road between jobs.

To set up your site for local searches, go to a search engine’s local area and submit your organization’s name, address, phone number, and website. For Google, go to Google’s Local Business Center at http://www.google.com/local/add/. Yahoo!’s local business center is at http://listings.local.yahoo.com/csubmit/, and the MSN local section is at https://ssl.search.live.com/listings/BusinessSearch.aspx.

Submitting Your Site for Local Searches

If your business provides services to a local area or multiple areas, you may want to include your page in local searches. The only reason you wouldn’t want to submit your site to local search engines is if your business doesn’t provide any type of local services and all of you provide local services.
Another good tip is to have geotags added on your own web site. I am putting them on all of customers sites right now. Search engines will use your latitude and longitude to help local shoppers and also get you added on other pages because you support geo tagging.

Here’s a list of freebies for Offline Advertising Tips For Nuisance Wildlife Removal Companies you can do on the cheap if you have business cards and fliers.

Each and every pest control in your area.
Every county/municipal animal control.
Every humane society and animal shelter, not the same as above.
Every animal rehabilitator in you area, you can get a list from your DNR.
Every animal rescue group, tread lightly, in your area.
Every county extension agent in your area.
Every soil conservation office.
Every farmer’s coop.
Every feed and seed store.
Every hardware store.
Every garden center.
Every fire dept.
Every police and sheriff dept.
Every county maintenance office, municpal as well.
Every county health dept, ask for enviromental health.

The biggest thing you can do with all of the above is to develop relationships. Always be alert to the opportunity to leverage those relationships into the next contact. For instance fire captain into the regional E911 administrator, county roads dept into state DOT, etc., etc..

All of these can be done on your daily route. Never set foot in a new town or county without hitting at least the all or some of the above. Continue to reach out each time you pass through the area. Put these contacts on your list to visit at least once a month and be very sure to show gratitude when due. I pass out cards like candy.

Next get a presence on the web. Again alot of freebies are available, you have to look for them but most are some form of local search engine but get as much of you information out there as they allow. Don’t forget Facebook, Twitter and all the other stuff. Be sure to link it all together.
